Your credits for a course will be transferred if the four-year college determines that the course matches the one it offers. Here are some resources to ensure your success. Check out these resources for help with your academic essays. From there, you`ll get an idea of the schools you`re considering. Make a list and learn more about them with resources like College Board, CUNY, SUNY, National College Search, and the websites of the specific colleges you`re interested in. The purpose of the essay is to convince admissions officers you`ve never met before in less than ten minutes that you`d be a good candidate for their colleges.
At the most basic level, it allows admissions officers to assess your communication and writing skills. In addition, the dissertation allows admissions officers to learn more about you as a person – a page of you that is not indicated by your cumulative grade point average and transcripts. The essay gives information about your history, attitudes, interests and creativity; there is a sense of your values and goals. What admissions officers do is create a community, see how you would fit into that community, what you would bring to that community, and what sets you apart. The transfer process can be complex. When you move from LaGuardia to a four-year college, we support you through the process to ensure your success. LaGuardia has articulation agreements with a number of colleges. These agreements ensure that your credits are transferred when you study certain programs at LaGuardia and the four-year college. Here are a few things to keep in mind: Small details aren`t the most important part of the essay, but you`re trying to make a good impression. You don`t want the admissions committee to think you`re a sloppy and careless writer. In your first year, start thinking about the following: you now have a long list of options and it`s time to narrow down your search. Also answer the following questions: applications, essays, letters of recommendation – this is paperwork! There are bad essays, not bad topics, but be careful with the following: Complete a review of your CUNY credits to CUNY: Do you consider a personal narrative statement on top of your essay? If your application has multiple writing components, they must be linked together to get a complete picture of you and should not be repeated or disconnected. The topic should go to the essentials, but also be as personal and event-specific as possible – not a CV or biography, but a specific event related to the topic.
